The UKs National Physical Laboratory (NPL) are searching for an enthusiastic Scientist with a good understanding of Terahertz Measurements to join the NPL Communication Technologies Group, which undertakes a range of metrology-orientated research including high-speed waveform analysis, wireless interference and propagation, antenna profiling and the health and safety of electromagnetic fields exposure.

Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory have generated extremely short pulses of light that are the strongest of their type ever produced and could prove invaluable in probing the ultra-fast motion of atoms and electrons.

Ultrahigh-speed electronics is quickly approaching a “terahertz gap” between semiconductors that top out at hundreds of gigahertz and optical frequencies that hit hundreds of terahertz.
