Postdoctoral or PhD position in metamaterials for terahertz applications
The Physikalische Institut of Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main has a job opening for a
Postdoctoral Researcher or a PhD student
in the field of terahertz physics and technology (Prof. Dr. Hartmut Roskos). The position (Stellenplan-Nr. 1302 23011) is available from 16 April 2008 for initially two years but can be extended.
Research field: Development and investigation of metamaterials for the Giga- and THz frequency range; exploration of applications of such materials in THz imaging.
Required competence: Master or PhD degree in physics, electrical engineering or materials sciences; preferably knowledge in one or several of the following areas of research: photonic crystals, left-handed materials, gigahertz and terahertz physics and technology; imaging.
Additional information: The position offers the possibility for independent research and for the advancement of scientific qualifications through a PhD/habilitation degree.
