The 4th International Symposium on Ultrafast Phenomena & Terahertz Waves
March 29 -31, 2008.
Tianjin University, Tianjin & Capital Normal University, Beijing, China
1. Symposium Scope
Terahertz radiation (0.1-10 THz), bridging between photonics and electronics, is a special and important branch of electromagnetic waves and has extensive applications in a broad range of disciplines. The goal of the symposium is to bring together domestic and oversea Chinese researchers active in the general areas of terahertz waves and ultrafast phenomena, and provide a platform for the mutual exchange of ideas. General topics that reflect new results and advancements include:
• Generation, detection, and propagation of terahertz waves
• Ultrafast lasers, phenomena, and photonic components
• Terahertz spectroscopy, imaging, and sensing
• Terahertz plasmonics and metamaterials
• Novel concepts and applications of terahertz radiation
2. When & Where
The symposium will be held on March 29-31, 2008 at Tianjin University, Tianjin and Capital Normal University, Beijing, China. There will be a short Lab training course on April 1, 2008 by Zomega Terahertz Corporation, USA at the Key Lab of THz Optoelectronics (Capital Normal University), the Ministry of Education of China.
