We are seeking an individual to lead and mentor our LIDAR group that is responsible for the research and development of advanced active electro optic sensors. Current activities include the development and fielding of spectroscopic LIDARs and R&D programs that support leading-edge active optical, terahertz and femtosecond sensing programs. You will be leading your technical team in projects execution and will be responsible for project budgets, customer interface, and staffing within the LIDAR group and will work cooperatively with other ITT programs in areas such as systems modeling, hardware engineering and software development. A sound understanding of lidar technologies and systems engineering is required. Good people skills and communication skills are a must.
This position requires an MS degree and 10+ years of relevant technical experience (engineering development, R&D, systems engineering) including 5+ years of technical management or technical team lead experience. The successful candidate should have relevant experience in aerosol lasers, or LIDAR development (developing a piece of hardware) and preferably in the application of spectroscopic techniques to LIDAR systems as opposed to medical imaging. Understanding of OPO/OPA technology is a plus.
