Digital System Engineer - NJIT
The Terahertz Spectroscopy and Imaging group at the New Jersey Institute of Technology has an immediate opening for a Digitial System Engineer.
THe successful candidate must hold a doctorate in Electrical/Computer engineering or equivalent. Knowledge and experience in design, development and implementation of firmware (FIR filters, polyphase filters, FFT) and hardware for digital processing systems based on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) technology, and interfacing with embedded processors is required. The ability to effortlessly design, run simulation, compile, implement and test complete FPGA systems and experience in VHDL and associated tools for design of firmware is required. Ability to work with both Xilinx and Altera FPGAs is desired. The candidate should have the ability to do original research in digital system design as demonstrated by published papers in the technical literature. Experience with interfacing to radio frequency technology a plus. Good written and oral communications skills are required.
