The following career opportunity is available: R&D Engineer Duties include support of Principal Investigators with the characterization, integration, and evaluation of advanced imaging devices and systems (millimeter wave/terahertz imaging and advanced sensors for unmanned platforms (infrared, visible, laser radar, etc.). This job will be filled at the appropriate level depending upon the successful candidates’ education and experience.
Minimum educational and work-related experience requirements are: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Optical/Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A background in mechanical, electrical, or optical engineering with exposure to optical and/or electro-optical devices and systems required, as well as in-depth knowledge of imaging device and system hardware design, integration, and evaluation and system software/algorithm design, integration and evaluation; the ability to be self directed and to define, develop, and execute project and experiment plans and the ability to set-up and execute laboratory and field experiments, analyze results, and provide recommendations for a path forward. Department of Defense research, systems engineering, and program management knowledge and skills preferred.
Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation. U.S. Citizenship required.
