Postdoctoral Position in Terahertz (THz) Spectroscopy - Naval Surface Warfare Center – Indian Head, MD
Naval Surface Warfare Center – Indian Head, MD
The Indian Head Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, located 25 miles south of Washington, DC invites applications for highly motivated experimentalists for postdoctoral positions in terahertz (THz) spectroscopy. The research will be focused on the detection and characterization of explosives using pulsed and cw THz spectroscopy. Development of novel techniques such as standoff THz spectroscopy and THz spectroscopy from compact sources will be investigated. The postdoctoral position requires knowledge in any of the following: ultrafast spectroscopy, terahertz spectroscopy, and chemical and mechanical properties of explosives. Experience with energetic materials is advantageous. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in physics or chemistry and must meet requirements of a security clearance including U.S. citizenship. The postdoctoral positions are supported through the ASEE-NRL Postdoctoral Program (http://www.asee.org/fellowships/nrl/index.cfm).
IHDIV is an AA/EEO employer.
