Optics and Optoelectronics: Metamaterials

16ג€“19 April 2007
Prague, Czech Republic
We invite the participants from countries all over the world to take part at the biannual SPIE International Congress on Optics and Optoelectronics held in Prague, April 16-19, 2007. This symposium will succeed the first International Congress on Optics and Optoelectronics organised in Warsaw by the SPIE Polish Chapter in 2005.
This new conference series in Central Europe creates a background for open exchange of topical research information, discussion of novel concepts and fields of applications; it promotes the dissemination of scientific results; enables the participants learn more about related topics; and offers opportunities to ask questions, support discussions, and enable networking among fellow researchers.
While this 2007 conference series continues to represent an important regional forum focusing on physical phenomena used in optics, optoelectronics, and photonics, it will also serve as the platform for new information updates on the EC Research Framework Programme. The event is designed to bring forward the latest advances in instruments and devices development; from photonic manufacturing, to emerging nanotechnologies — among many other cutting-edge topics. The symposium will begin with a comprehensive “Hot Topics” session aimed at providing an overview of the most important developments in the field of photonics. Presentation of the current R&D photonic projects as well as the research policy and strategy of the European Commission in the area of Photonics (the 7th Research Framework Programme, FP7) will conclude the session.
We invite all researchers, scientists, engineers, and application and product developers to join their colleagues and share results related to the conference topics described here. Visit the city of hundred spires; the magical city of bridges, cathedrals, gold-tipped towers and church domes. Come and join us for this exciting meeting in Prague!
