Postdoc Position in Optical Spectroscopy (Ellipsometry): University of Fribourg
Our solid state physic group at the University of Fribourg is working in the field of infrared spectroscopy (especially infrared ellipsometery) on cuprate high Tc superconductors and related oxides with strongly correlated charge carriers, like the layered ruthenates NaxCoO2. We are also very active in the field of artificially grown multilayers (thin films) that combine for instance cuprate high Tc superconductors with ferromagnetic manganites or ruthenates. Part of the work is performed at the nearby synchrotron light sources of „ANKA“ at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe in Germany and at the „Swiss Light Source” (SLS) at Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) in Villigen, Switzerland.
To enhance our research activities, we are seeking a qualified scientist on the Postdoc level with experience in solid state physics, preferably in optical spectroscopy. We are offering an active research environment in a group of young scientist that are working in optical spectroscopy, materials synthesis (PLD thin film growth), neutron reflectometry and low-energy muon-spin rotation techniques. The position will be initially for one year but can be extended up to three years. We offer a competitive salary of 69.400 CHF (~45.000 Euro or 55.000 $US) per year.
Interested candidates should send their application including a CV and names of two referees to Prof. Christian Bernhard, Department of Physics, University of Fribourg, Chemin du Musee 3, CH-1700 Fribourg, Switzerland; tel: ++41-26-300-9070, fax: ++41-26-300-9747, e-mail: christian.bernhard@unifr.ch.
