MRS Symposium on Materials Research for THz Applications

Materials Research for THz Applications
The field of terahertz research has been expanding in the past several years covering a broad range of applications. This symposium will focus on the progress of the materials research at THz frequencies (0.1-10 THz) and on devices for THz applications. The goal is to bring together experts from the materials and device communities to advance our understanding of ultrafast processes and to address challenges in developing novel devices and techniques. The broad scope of the symposium will include research on material systems ranging from molecules to metamaterials, developing THz sources and detectors, as well as spectroscopic and imaging methods and techniques. Contributions related to novel materials and devices for THz applications, physics and chemistry of ultrafast processes, and sensing and imaging at THz frequencies are encouraged.
Session Topics
Contributions are solicited in the following and related areas:
* Novel materials for THz applications
* Material properties at THz frequencies
* Ultrafast chemistry and physics
* Molecular- and condensed-phase THz spectroscopy
* THz sources and detectors
* Novel devices for THz applications
* THz imaging
* Remote THz sensing
